Presentation Skills
- Delivery of a pre-prepared presentation on a topic chosen by the delegate, which is relevant to their work.
N.B. The duration of each delegate's presentation will depend on the overall length of the course and the number of participants. An ideal group size is eight participants.

Preparing a Presentation
- Key questions for the presenter to consider in advance:
- Why am I the right person to present?
- Logistics regarding the what, where, when, how – and duration?
- Understanding how the answers to these questions influence the presentation structure
- Structuring the content:
- Research – ensuring a thorough understanding of the subject
- Organizing the content in a logical order
- Creating and using complementary visual aids
Preparing the Presenter
- The presenter's three fundamental communication tools:
- Verbal – the choice of words and avoiding slang and jargon
- Vocal – the sound of the voice, avoiding distracting verbal tics and unnecessary punctuations
- Visual – the presenter's appearance: attire; mannerisms; presence
- Rehearsing the presentation – and obtaining honest feedback from a trusted source
- Managing nerves
Preparing the Environment
- Room layouts – and how they convey underlying messages to those attending the presentation
- Leveraging the room to enhance the presentation experience
Presentation Skills – Revisited
- Delivery of another presentation (after sufficient preparation time).
N.B. This may be the same presentation as in Module 1, revised based on the detailed feedback
