Design Thinking Training Course
Overview:
The Design Thinking (DT) framework comprises five distinct stages: empathy, problem definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing.
In today's increasingly complex landscape, we encounter challenges that demand specialized strategies. Design Thinking offers a robust method for navigating these complexities. By mastering design thinking, you can manage intricate problems more effectively, enhance communication, persuade with greater efficiency, drive better business outcomes, and elevate both organizational dynamics and individual performance.
- Core principles of DT: Learning from people and problems, identifying patterns, creating design models (including managing model drift), testing the model, evaluating results, and re-engineering as needed.
- The interplay between DT, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Essential DT methods and tools: Personas, stakeholder maps, customer journey maps, service blueprints, and business model innovation.
- Practical application of DT: Cultivating a design mindset, driving disruptive innovation, employing an iterative approach, using agile estimation techniques, and strengthening critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership readiness. It also enhances communication skills, technological savvy, forward-thinking capabilities, intercultural and ethical competency, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, negotiation skills, and conflict resolution.
Objectives:
- To grasp the fundamentals and subtleties of DT.
- To explore key concepts, factors, theories, types, and models within DT.
- To experiment with, experience, and practice DT hands-on.
Delivery:
This is a one-day (4-hour) training course structured as follows:
- Lectures (40%): Presentation of theories, concepts, models, and interactive discussions.
- Group exercises (30%): Activities involving group dynamics, games, group discussions, and mock conflict resolution.
- Individual activities (15%): Writing tasks, design work, and peer discussions.
- Other materials (15%): Videos and reading materials.
