This course provides a foundational overview of Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, along with a high-level introduction to Power BI. The curriculum is centered around a real-world scenario I previously handled manually for a former employer. We will construct a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor tasks related to newly constructed homes, storing the data on SharePoint for simplicity. Additionally, we will use Power Virtual Agents to demonstrate how to enable bots within Microsoft Teams that guide users to documents scattered across various SharePoint sites, such as loan documents, budgets, and sales contracts. I believe these bots hold significant value for HR and IT teams, particularly for managing repetitive inquiries. I will also demonstrate how to set up straightforward flows in Power Automate to archive attachments from specific senders (in our example, saving inspection attachments organized by the bank) as well as other simple flows that save data from Microsoft Forms back to SharePoint. Furthermore, we will develop fully automated processes using the approvals app within Microsoft Teams. Upon completing the app, bot, and flow, the final step involves creating a simple Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to send a snapshot of the table containing the most recent completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (in this case, the bank). This snapshot will request a draw, including the completion dates of the tasks and their associated budget amounts, all data collected via the app. Please note that this course maintains a high-level perspective. For more technical aspects, such as coding elements or formulas in Power Apps, I recommend leveraging ChatGPT. However, this topic is covered within the course, where I demonstrate how to effectively use ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
