Requirement for Superset Consulting A major financial services organization sought to transition away from a leading industry BI solution for one of its key products. The goal was to migrate to an Open Source platform, specifically Superset, in order to achieve significant reductions in license costs.
Deliverables NobleProg engaged in several project meetings with the client to thoroughly understand the requirements, scope, associated risks, and the technical environment. From this analysis, we developed a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and track the project’s progress. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture with the specific reporting needs for each report type. Recommendations were made to modify the data stores to maximize the utility of Superset while ensuring optimal performance, with guidance provided to the team implementing these changes. Following the optimization of the data store and data pipeline, our consultants began building and deploying a variety of reports based on both existing requirements and new requests from the business and customers. To meet specific data presentation needs, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive features, such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants have been developing new dashboards while ensuring that sufficient knowledge transfer occurs within the customer organization, enabling them to maintain the dashboards and reports independently.
The project is currently ongoing and has been well-received by both the client’s business units and their end clients. Highlighting the project’s success, its scope has been expanded to include additional products and end clients.
